CVV’s Seven Stars: First Recipients of the Global Internship Programme

Internships play a vital role in building one’s career. It not just helps undergraduates and graduates get actual exposure to working environments but also given then an opportunity to develop skills that are necessary to stand out in a saturated job market.

The experience typically prepares candidates for the workforce and the challenges that come with it.

If given an opportunity by the college or university to travel abroad and get a first-hand idea of the work culture in a little-known land, where candidates also find a platform to network and build contacts, the experience can go a long way in shaping his or her career in the long run.

Five benefits of availing internship opportunities in college

  • Helps candidates to figure out their interests better
  • Allows them to connect with industry professionals
  • Teaches them the importance of work-life balance
  • Gives them an edge over others while finding jobs
  • Offers opportunity to earn as they learn
  • Tests their problem-solving abilities

Not every college or university, however, offers such platforms for its learners. Even if they do, the offers are majorly restricted to home states or countries.

Global exposure allows individuals to step out of their comfort zones, learn about diverse cultures and find out better where they stand when compared to contemporaries from other countries.

One institute that entirely funds internship opportunities for its meritorious undergraduate learners is Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) in the picturesque town of Kochi.

At CVV, authorities strike a careful balance between the old and new, offering common streams of courses with unique electives and supplementary subjects, with an objective to mould the teenagers of today into well-rounded, responsible, value-grounded, young adults that contribute to the nation, and the world at large.

Seven learners from various streams at the institute have recently bagged a one-of-a-kind opportunity to be a part of the institute’s global internship programme this year.

Testimonials

It was my first time outside the country. Initially, I was sceptical of being chosen for the global internship programme as I did not have the means to even partially fund the opportunity. Thankfully, CVV authorities took care of all aspects, ensuring that my experience was a smooth one.

I was guided by my mentors at CVV from the very beginning. They helped me with my application at every step. Even the process of getting a visa did not incur much time.

Once in Dubai, I was floored by the way my seniors at Spandan: Dance and Music Institute, welcomed me, taught me the tricks of the trade. I have made some connections with my peers as well as my seniors at the company, which, I believe, will last a lifetime.

I can thank CVV enough for granting me this opportunity.

IMA (Tabla) Graduate, CNBG Campus, Pune

I was very excited to have landed the internship programme in Ajman, UAE. My mentors and other faculty members at CVV played a crucial role behind this achievement of mine.

At Stallion Group in Ajman, I got to learn so much about diverse cultures, met people from other countries, handled some tasks for my seniors and even attended meetings.

Everyone at Stallion was warm and friendly. My university ensured that my stay at Dubai was comfortable in every way. I was constantly in touch with my family and teachers during the seven-day-long internship programme.
